ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Kristine Zanno grew up in the Hudson Valley region of New York State.  She was educated in the Fine Arts receiving a BFA in painting and a minor in art history from the State University of New York at New Paltz.  Since graduating in 1992, Kristine has submitted numerous works to juried shows as well as displaying her art in local businesses and galleries.  She has received several honors including, first place in the Coral Springs Art Guild, and judge's recognition from the Broward County Art Guild.  She has also been involved in donating several works to charity events and auctions, and is the illustrator of a recently published children's book entitled “The Fall Ball”.  Today Kristine resides in Heber City, Utah with her husband, renown chef, David Kratky.  Here she continues her creative endeavors, always looking for new inspiration in the beauty of the world around her as well as within.

Kristine's art is created in a variety of mediums, including oil, watercolor, collage, pastel, and the printing processes of etching, lithography and the monotype.  To Kristine, art is a way of seeing images, bringing emotions to visual depictions, connecting the subject to its surroundings and projecting this to the viewer.  Movement and form always compete within each piece giving the work an animated contemporary feel.  Kristine feels that nothing is lost in this artistic translation but rather so much more is gained through the artist's interpretation—as unique as their own fingerprints.
